As time progressed jewelry became the sign of social or religious rank. Usually crafted from gold, silver, or platinum, and often with precious or semiprecious stones, jewelry became the object designed for the decoration of the body. In prehistoric times, Jewelry evolved from shells, animal teeth, and other objects used as adornment.

Even if the wedding bands are not be worn until the wedding day, the two rings i.e., the engagement ring and the wedding bands are usually sold together as a wedding set. A wedding set includes an engagement ring and a wedding band that match perfectly as a set. Woman's wedding rings can usually have a precious stone. In many countries, both the man and the woman usually wear engagement rings, most often in the form of matching plain bands of white, yellow, or rose gold. In these countries the man's engagement ring often also eventually serves as the wedding ring.

SilverPrincess, in my thinking there is nothing better than silver wedding jewelry, for instance, as we offer at http://sellerby.com/good_5903_463371855-Sterling-Silver-Rhodium-Plated-Earrings-with-Yellow-Pink-Blue-and-Green-Multi-Shape-CZs.htm

Silver looks much more noblier than gold, which is too posh, if you want my opinion.
