I wanted to share a fun experience I had the past few weeks with my daughter. We bought a couple of Whitman Jefferson Nickel books, one book covering years 1962-1995, the other 1996 to present. Over the past couple weeks we have been buying boxes of nickels from the bank to sort out the years/mintmarks we need for the books. It took us three $100 boxes of nickels to completely fill up both books. We also got three war nickels and one 1920-D buffalo nickel in VG condition (worth about $15). Overall this was a fun experience and cost us nothing more than $2.99 per book plus $.05 for each coin. I feel an odd sense of satisfaction now that I have two complete coin books, plus the quality time with the kids isn't too bad either!

I like to go through my change and save random coinage as well.  Anything that is in great shape or really old normally.  Everything from pennies to silver dollars!
